Quiz maker for staff training and compliance checks.
Quizoma works as a free quiz maker for staff training: check that an induction, a safety briefing or a policy update actually landed, with written answers marked fairly and a PDF record at the end.
What a training check needs
A check after training has a different job from a classroom quiz. It has to show that a named person understood something, and you may be asked to show it again months later. In practice that means four things:
- Answers tied to a person. Everyone signs in with a Google account, so each answer belongs to someone — no shared logins, no anonymous papers.
- A record you can file. Every quiz produces a PDF report with each person's score, every answer exactly as typed and any comment you left.
- Fair marking of written answers. "Describe what you do when the alarm sounds" says more than a multiple choice question, as long as a spelling slip does not fail someone.
- Nothing to install. Staff answer at quizoma.com/take on their own phone or a shared laptop.
A worked example: a fire safety refresher
Five questions, mixing formats:
- Single choice: Where is the assembly point for this building? Four locations, one correct.
- True/false: Lifts may be used during a fire evacuation. (False.)
- Written, typo-tolerant: Which type of extinguisher is used on
electrical fires? Accepted answers
CO2andcarbon dioxide, so carbon dioxde still scores. - Written, keyword coverage: Describe what you do when the alarm sounds. Keywords: stop work, nearest exit, assembly point, lifts. Set to Most, three of the four are enough.
- Multiple correct: Which of these must be kept clear? Fire exits, corridors and extinguisher points correct, a desk drawer not.
Questions 3 and 4 are where most tools fail a trainee who understood. Quizoma lets you auto-grade short answers by closeness or by the ideas they cover, and you can switch the whole quiz to manual marking when every answer needs a human.
Running it
Build the check in the online quiz maker, then share the 6-character quiz code, the link or the QR — on a screen at the end of a briefing, or in a message to people who missed it. You can schedule a start and end time. For a formal check, keep results hidden until you announce them; for a refresher, allow retakes and show the right answers and your explanations straight after submitting. A retake replaces the earlier score.
Keeping the record
The participant list sorts, so finding everyone who missed question 4 is one tap. Export the PDF report for the file, or Excel and CSV from Quizoma Studio if your records live in a spreadsheet.
What it is not: Quizoma is a quiz tool, not a learning management system. It records who answered what and how they scored, and leaves course tracking to the system you already use. Each person needs a Google account, and a quiz holds up to 20 questions by default.
